Bellingham Tops Every England Stat as Argentina Looms
Jude Bellingham has become the tournament's standout midfielder with six goals, and Gary Neville says his displays have been almost single-handedly carrying England to the semi-finals.
According to Sky Sports, Jude Bellingham is leading England's statistical charts at the World Cup after scoring twice in the 2-1 win over Norway, a feat he had also achieved in the previous match against Mexico.
Sky Sports reports that Bellingham's tally of six goals makes him the highest-scoring midfielder at the tournament. The only players to have scored more are forwards Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. No midfielder in World Cup history has ever scored more at a single tournament, according to the report.
Gary Neville is quoted by Sky Sports as saying Bellingham's performances have given him goosebumps and described them as game-changing, adding that the Real Madrid man has carried England to the last four almost single-handedly alongside Harry Kane. The 23-year-old now faces Argentina in Atlanta, with those numbers sure to be on every opponent's mind.
