England Must Beat Panama to Top Group L After Ghana Draw
Thomas Tuchel's side are still on course to win Group L, but Saturday's clash with Panama now carries extra weight after a goalless draw with Ghana.
England's path through Group L has become a little more complicated after their 0-0 draw with Ghana, according to Sky Sports. Thomas Tuchel's side remain in a strong position to top the group, but they must better Ghana's result against Croatia when they face already-eliminated Panama on Saturday.
The situation is tight further down the standings. Croatia and Ghana are both battling for the second qualification spot, with a draw potentially enough for both to advance. Ghana look likely to go through even if they lose to Croatia, though a heavy defeat could change things. Croatia risk elimination if results go against them.
With Panama already out of the tournament, England will expect to get the job done in New York on Saturday evening, but Tuchel's side will be aware that their attacking output needs to improve after a goalless 90 minutes against Ghana.
