Five World Cup Stars Ready to Light Up the Premier League
A veteran scout casts his eye over the breakout talents at USA 2026 who could soon be turning heads in England.
Five players catching the eye at this World Cup have the attributes to succeed in the Premier League, according to veteran scout and former Tottenham manager David Pleat, writing for The Guardian.
Among those highlighted is Tarik Muharemovic, the Bosnia and Herzegovina centre-back who has been one of the tournament's quiet revelations. The 6ft 4in defender, currently on loan at Sassuolo from Juventus, has impressed with his calm reading of the game, strong positioning and a tendency to always play forward with the ball.
Pleat draws a comparison with Croatian youngster Luka Vuskovic, who joined Tottenham last summer, suggesting Muharemovic has a similarly bright future. Players from Morocco, USA and New Zealand are also among those flagged as names to watch as the group stage reaches its conclusion.
According to The Guardian, all five have shown enough in the early rounds to attract serious attention from clubs in England once the tournament dust settles.
