Guehi Fitness Scare Adds to England's Norway Quarter-Final Worries
Marc Guehi missed England's final training session before Saturday's quarter-final against Norway, raising fresh doubts alongside the ongoing concern over Reece James.
England's preparations for their World Cup quarter-final against Norway have taken another anxious turn, with Marc Guehi now a serious doubt for the match in Miami on Saturday, according to Sky Sports.
The Manchester City defender picked up a hamstring strain during the win over Mexico and was unable to join his teammates on the grass during the final training session in Kansas City. Sky Sports News understands that coach Thomas Tuchel has not yet given up hope that Guehi will be fit to start, but time is running short.
Guehi was seen moving around the edge of the pitch at England's Swope Soccer training base on Thursday, though it is now clear he was not taking part. The problem is not thought to be severe, but the clock is ticking.
The Guehi concern adds to the worry surrounding Reece James, whose hamstring injury has kept him out of squad training for almost three weeks. James is reported to be desperate to play and feels ready, but his availability remains a major question heading into the biggest match of England's tournament so far.
