Reuters reports that coach Patrice Migne has left Haiti and taken up a new role as head coach of Gabon, with the Gabon football federation announcing the appointment without disclosing contract details.
Migne's tenure with Haiti was a historic one. He led the Caribbean nation to their first World Cup qualification in over half a century, a genuine landmark for Haitian football. However, Haiti were eliminated in the group stage of the 2026 tournament, which was co-hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States.
The move marks a swift chapter change for the French coach, who now takes on a new challenge on the African continent. Whether the same ability to build and inspire a squad can be replicated with Gabon will be his next test.
