Henderson Hurt in Win: England Star Stretchered Off

England's victory over Mexico came with a painful footnote, according to The Guardian. Jordan Henderson, who had made only a brief substitute appearance late in the match, suffered a wrist injury during the post-match celebrations with supporters and had to be helped off the pitch by medical staff.

Henderson was given oxygen and carried away on a stretcher as teammates gathered around him. Jude Bellingham spoke to the BBC afterwards, saying Henderson was in some difficulty but that the medical team had things under control, and that he did not want to say too much given he was still piecing together what had happened.

The incident added a sour note to what had otherwise been a dramatic England performance. Bellingham scored twice and Harry Kane added a penalty as England eventually edged through, though they spent much of the second half reduced to ten men after Jarell Quansah was sent off.
