Livramento Out, Chalobah In as England Suffer Injury Blow
England's World Cup preparations have been disrupted by a hamstring injury to Tino Livramento, forcing a late defensive reshuffle before their opener against Croatia.
England have been dealt an early World Cup setback, according to Sky Sports, with Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento ruled out of the tournament after suffering a hamstring injury in training.
The 23-year-old had only just returned from a thigh problem that kept him out for the final weeks of the club season, but this fresh setback has ended his tournament before it even began. The FA moved swiftly to bring in a replacement ahead of the FIFA deadline.
Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, who had been on England's standby list, has now been called up to join the squad. With England facing Croatia in Dallas on Wednesday, Thomas Tuchel will be hoping the disruption does not unsettle his defensive plans.
