Lukaku Off the Bench in 22 Seconds to Deny Egypt History
Romelu Lukaku's instant impact rescued Belgium a draw and kept Egypt waiting for their first ever World Cup win.
Egypt came agonisingly close to a landmark result in Seattle, according to Sky Sports. Emam Ashour's superb long range strike gave the seven time Africa Cup of Nations winners their first World Cup half time lead in 92 years of trying.
But Belgium had their answer on the bench. Romelu Lukaku, Belgium's all time top scorer, came on and within just 22 seconds had forced a Mohamed Hany own goal to level the Group G contest at 1-1.
The draw means Egypt remain without a World Cup victory, while Belgium will feel they left the door open in what had been a difficult afternoon in the searing Seattle heat.
