Morocco Hobbled Before Kick-Off: Two Key Men Ruled Out
Morocco arrived at the 2026 World Cup already short-handed, with winger Ez Abde and defender Noussair Mazraoui both ruled out through injury before the tournament began.
Morocco's preparations for the 2026 World Cup were dealt a double blow when coach Walid Regragui lost two key squad members to injury ahead of the tournament, according to beIN Sports.
Winger Ez Abde and defender Nayef Aguerd were both ruled out, forcing Regragui to call up replacements Sbai and Saadane to fill the gaps in his squad. The absences are a real blow for a Moroccan side that had genuine hopes of going deep into the tournament.
Despite those setbacks, Morocco showed in their 1-1 draw with Brazil that they remain a serious force, suggesting Regragui has done a strong job of managing the disruption before a ball was even kicked.
