The match was a difficult night for France. Sky Sports reports that Kylian Mbappe was kept quiet throughout, and other attacking options including Ousmane Dembele could not find a way through a well-organised Spain defence. William Saliba was forced off early with injury, complicating France's defensive shape further.

Yamal was at the heart of Spain's best moments, and a goal he scored was ruled out for offside. The 2010 champions now face Argentina in the final in New Jersey on Sunday, a meeting of the two most recent World Cup winners.
