Tuchel Speaks Out on Quansah Ban and England Squad Health
England manager Thomas Tuchel addressed the media ahead of the Norway quarter-final, touching on Quansah's suspension, the fitness of his squad, and the warmth he has felt from supporters.
England head coach Thomas Tuchel stepped before the cameras on Saturday with a packed agenda, according to Sky Sports. With the quarter-final against Norway just hours away in Miami, Tuchel fielded questions on the absence of Jarell Quansah, who is suspended for the match, and offered an update on the overall fitness of his squad heading into the biggest game of the tournament so far.
Tuchel was also asked about the overwhelming support England have received throughout the competition. The German coach, who has won over plenty of sceptics since taking charge, spoke openly about what that fan love means to the group as they prepare for a meeting with Erling Haaland's Norway.
Crucially, Tuchel told reporters there was "no FIFA explanation" for the Quansah suspension, a comment that will add fuel to an already heated debate around officiating decisions at this World Cup. England will need to reorganise their defensive options accordingly.
